Boy it is hot!

Thankfully we arrived intact, only one piece of luggage missing (and it was a leaders), and we all know where Ruth keeps her mobile!!

As soon as you walk out of the air con. you realise how hot it is.

We ate tea at the church; snapper fish and peas and rice before moving to our home stays. After nearly 24 hours of travelling and little sleep everyone was ready for bed.

The accommodation is great and everyone seems to be really happy with their home stays, though it may take longer for everyone to get used to a lack of air con. at night.

The group met the Governor General today. It was my first time of meeting a head of state and I'm pleased that everyone behaved themselves impeccably. It was a gentle, down to earth guy sharing his words of wisdom with the group. We were aware of his influence on the Bahamas constitution and the raising the education standards of this small nation.

We've just been down the main tourist street in Nassau (Bay Street) and half the team are still there. Be prepared for gifts of straw bags, wooden animals and teeshirts.

Following 1 John 3:1 the team has been given the task of finding people of God in Bay Street.

Glad you arrived safely. Slap on the suncream as instructed. No need for that in Liverpool at present! Don't forget to bring me one of those hats please. All good wishes, Ron G.

Dear All

Thursday morning and blue sky in UK - no need for air con here yet! Made me smile to think of you on the look out for God's children, it's wonderful to travel all that way and meet up with others speaking the same language. Can you also be on the look out for a project for Trinity - we alternate home/abroad and 2009 is abroad. Praying for another wonderful day for all you exchangers, with love and prayers, Chris Jones

By the cringe, the Lord does move in mysterious ways. After sending you an email, I've found my way here. Anyway, just to let you know again that you're in our prayers and we wish you all every blessing. Keep safe and look after each other.

Dear All,

Being the almost computer illiterate soul I am, it's taken me three days to figure out how to send you a message. It's a tad late now for bon voyage but I hope not too late to let you all know that we hope you had a good trip over and are settled in now.

Your expedition sounds idyllic, but I know that what you're all doing will be far away from Bacardi's and hammocks on the beach.

My the living God, Father, Son and Spirit bless each one of you and be with you in this superb example of 'Christianity in Action'. And please be assured that you're in our prayers, both personal and in the services I'll be leading whilst your away.

Very, very well done!!! Take care of each other and remember that the Lord God does not send out his own without expecting a return, which we know he shall get.

With every blessing and kindest regards

Máire and Godfrey

I've even found out how to copy the original email too. :-)
